Call for Abstracts for:

Graduate students of Civil Engineering are invited to submit abstracts for papers to be presented at a one-day research symposium to be held at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio on Tues., May 15, 2001.  The goal of this symposium is to bring together graduate students from our regional academic community to meet student and faculty colleagues, discuss research, identify new resources and begin friendships that will continue on into professional careers.  Presentations will be “formal” in a casual setting.

Abstracts from all areas of Civil Engineering research are encouraged. Concurrent sessions will be held for specialties such as Environmental, Geotechnical, Mechanics and Structural Engineering, but the goal is to create an interesting program that is inclusive and thought provoking.  Abstracts of presentations will be available at the symposium. Comprehensive paper proceedings (optional) will be published following the symposium.  Faculty co-authors are welcome, but the first author must be a current or very recent graduate student.  All presentations will be made by graduate students.  Additional details will be posted on CWRU’s web page  http://ecivwww.cwru.edu/civil/ .  E-mail questions to aaj2@po.cwru.edu.

A one-page abstract for each presentation should be sent to the following address by May 1, 2001.  Please include full author information for each author including mail and E-mail address.   Electronic abstract submission is encouraged.
