The Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Mechanical
and
Aerospace Engineering are co-sponsoring two design competitions
to
encourage high school students with interest in, and aptitude for,
engineering
design. This year's competitions will be the Model Bridge
Building
Contest and the Eveready Battery-Powered Car Contest
The Registration Form and Official Rules for the Bridge Competition are now online (just click the links above). Also, the department will lend a videotape on model bridge building for a period of one week at no charge. For more information on the video tape, call (216) 368-2951. More information can be found about the Everready Battery-Powered Car Contest by Clicking Here. The participation of high school students either as individuals or as a team of two is welcomed. Each participant and faculty advisor who attends the competition will receive a free T-shirt. Each entering team must complete and return the Registration Form. The deadline for returning the registration form is February 17, 2005, in order to receive a T-shirt. We look forward to seeing you!

Cars and bridges must be available for inspection prior to the actual
competition.
We have reserved the Adelbert Gymnasium starting from 11:30 p.m. The
bridge
competition starts at 12:30 and the battery-powered car competition
starts
at 2:00.
