New Model Development
Due to the poor agreement of the many models in the literature with the data, a new model was developed.
New model assumed that swelling is predominate cause of permeability reduction.
Model calculates increase in clay volume using x-ray diffraction data, correlates this with permeability expected based on other experimental results.
