Spreading a thin layer of silicon oil between the latex membrane and the long walls to reduce wall friction.
No petroleum grease is preferable.
Excessive thickness of the grease layer should be avoided to prevent lateral deformation of the model.
A grease layer whose thickness is less than 0.02 mm provides a sufficient lubrication effect ( Japanese geot. soc., 1998).
